This one came out in a ranger.  Which we saw on teh trail. We also saw a dead ATV too. you could tell it had been there awhile if I would had another adult with me could have some home with all kinds of dead toys to rejuvinate.

Yupers no one was out there except for hunters and they where on the way in not on the trail. Except for one guy who came off of the trail shortly after we did as we where loading up.

Left out of most commentary is that the new Winsor Trail created by the forest service takes 5 miles to go the same distance the old Winsor goes in 2 miles.  This turns Stewart Lake into a 14 Mile round trip instead of an 8 mile round trip, which is unacceptable to most of us.  TR261 was well designed by the Winsors and therefore will remain their preference for most of us.

This loop hike returns on Trail 261/Winsor Creek Trail.  This trail does not appear on many maps.  This may be because the trail is officially closed.  The trail, nonetheless, exists and is readily hiked (albeit around and over considerable downfall).  As the Guide says, the trail is only marked with a sign declaring "Trail is not suited for pack and saddle stock."
